Route Information:

1. Wheelchair athletes are welcome to participate
2. Regrettable athletes are not allowed to participate with pets.
3. No seconding is permitted except at water points only as per demarcated distance of 100m before and after table
4. All runners / participants must obey the marshals and traffic officers at all times.
5. No mechanically operated devices, blades or cyclists allowed for safety reasons according to WA rule No 144.2b failing to comply will lead to disqualification.
6. The wearing of headphones / earphones is prohibited

General Information:

Rules:
1. The race takes place in accordance with the rules of the WA, ASA and CGA.
2. Proof of age to be produced on request
3. All athletes must supply the name and contact number of their next of kin on both the race number and the entry form.
4. Licensed Athletes must wear their 2024 license number back and front of the vest.
5. Licensed athletes who do not wear 2024 license number must purchase temporary licence on the day of the race or face disqualification.
6. Entry Fee Not Refundable
7. Foreign athletes must comply with the rules of WA and ASA rule No 142.2
8. Registered athletes must be a member of an affiliated club
9. Athletes competing for category prizes must wear clearly visible age tags.
10. No Refunds Will Be Entertained Whatsoever.
11. Athletes must ensure they are medical fit to participate.
12. Any prize not redeemed for any reason within two weeks of notification will be forfeited
13. Any objection must be lodged in writing within 30munites of official announcement by the referee`s decision accompanied by R500.00, which will be forfeited if the appeal is not upheld.
14. Referees has the right to enquire identity verification for confirmation
15. The race organizers retains the right to refuse or reject any persons under the influence of alcohol or any offensive misconduct.
16. Athletes must be 14 and older to participate in the 10km
17. International Athletes must produce clearance letter

All Participants agree to and hereby bind themselves to the following indemnity:

I indemnify, acknowledge and agree that the Westrand Golden 10km Race ,the national, provincial and regional bodies, sponsors, volunteers, organizers of the race against any risk or all actions of whatsoever nature, whatever the same may arise out of their participation in the race.
All athletes participate at their own risk.
Athletes acknowledge by entering the event that they are medically fit to participate.
